Wisdomap is an award-winning free study aid for medical students, created by doctors.
Medical students around the world use it to: organise differential diagnoses, memorise medical information, create structured medical study notes, access medical information on the go. Wisdomap is essentially an innovative software platform that encourages medical students to ‘study smarter’. The study aid provides a distinct advantage for users over their fellow alumni.
The brief was originally to design for Wisdomap Medicine but after research I saw that they also have apps for different disciplines. From this created a logo that wasn’t specific to medicine and could easily be adapted to suit any area of education.
I created the owl itself from the ‘w’ in the font I used to connect the two together and make it looked uniformed. Colouring the hat and changing the tagline was the most logical way to represent the disciplines.
When designing the logo I wanted to create something that would attract the student audience but not too young that doctors wouldn’t relate to it. I kept it simple but bold.
To ensure the logo worked among the Wisdomap disciplines as I gave them each their own identity through the use of colour. Orange for the main logos as it’s fun, young, attracting and bold. Deep purple for Law, blue for medical, pink for schools and yellow for personal. I translated all this into the website design.
